illusion knitting sample

Illusion Knitting !
this is such a fun style of knitting - the *picture* appears from a different view than from above!!
Something *new* for those who are tired of doing plain, ordinary knit and purls.
Though you still do knit/purl, the *mystery* of the design puts a different slant on knitting it [pun intended!] ~

This is one I recently finished knitting to display for the monthly knit-along group which I belong to ~
The pattern is called *Vintage Flowers* -
I liked it because it immediately made me think of my grandmother's afghan, the black background and the colorful flowers scattered upon it.

View 1:  from above - how we usually look at things - this is what you see:

View 2:  Now, if you bring the dish-cloth to your eye level, look what you see:

Coooool, eh?!

  1. Linda, I knitted an illusion dishcloth pattern on Raverly with a cross on it. As soon as my friend saw it, she wanted it and I gave it to her. I have printed the vintage flowers pattern and it will be my next cloth. I thought it will be a great way to use some of the small balls of yarn leftover from our monthly KALs with Janet. Thanks for helping us with this project.
